18/08/2005 Madrugada are returning to Greece on December... after their 3 great shows of Madrugada in Greece on May, the band is planning to visit again Greece on December!!! According to their official site, Madrugada will perform on 16th December in Thessaloniki, and on Saturday and Sunday 17th, 18th December in Athens... There's a light possibility to play in Chania on 15th December also, but these are still unofficial informations... For their local gigs, we will organize again some events, ideas and suggestions are welcomed from all the members of the fan club, so don't hesitate to put some in the table in the forum
Also, from the forum and the very interesting (english translated) post of Anke, according to Frode's and Sivert's interview to Dagbladet on 10th August, the next release will be called Ivory Town... It's going to be a concept Üëìðïõì, to be released under the project of Madrugada 4 1/2. Ivory Town, is an unreleased song, recorded before Industrial Silence, and it's rumoured to be one of their best tracks ever... you can find the whole article (in norwegian) here

Robert and Sivert played some rockin' rollin' tunes in a packed Memphis club, (as we tried to convice Robert to play some more My Midnight Creeps songs :-) and we had some interesting talking with Frode, about how great Move is...
29/05/2005 one of the best Madrugada shows we ever attended... the second Madrugada day in Athens was even better than the first... Absolutely awesome!!!!
Setlist: 1) Stories from the Streets 2) On your side 3) Running out of time 4) Belladonna 5) Hands Up! I Love You 6) Majesty 7) Only when you're gone 8) Hold on to you 9) I don't fit 10) The Frontman 11) Got you 12) Black Mambo 13) Bloodshot adult commitment 14) Hard to come back --(first encore)-- 15) The kids are on high street 16) Electric 17) Sail away --(second encore)-- 18) Rainy Night In Soho (Pogues cover) 19) Higher 20) Ramona
28/05/2005 the first Madrugada show is gone, and we're tryin' to get calm down hours later... the support set was from a greek band from Thessaloniki, named Broken Seals, which was pretty cool, and from Vidar Vang a small 6-songs set... Vidar is only 20 years old, follows the path of Damien Rice, the dylan-influences are quite obvious, but he was really cool on stage, and really really very promising to everybody in the full-packed venue who were anxious for Madrugada (actually they are going to play 2 sold out gigs in Athens)
Setlist: 1) Stories from the Streets 2) On your side 3) Running out of time 4) Belladonna 5) Majesty 6) Only when you're gone 7) Hold on to you 8) I don't fit 9) The Frontman 10) Got you 11) Black Mambo 12) Bloodshot adult commitment 13) Hard to come back --(first encore)-- 14) The kids are on high street 15) Electric 16) Sail away --(second encore)-- 17) Higher 18) Ramona
They started with Stories From The Streets and On Your Side, pretty cool start, but at the beginning the sound of the venue wasn't quite good, which was really improved on Runnin' Out Of TIme... It was our first blast, a knock out, and Sivert was giving anything for that... the band was so full of energy, so dynamic..
firstly, a broken chord from Robert's guitar, and secondly a broken chord from Sivert's acoustic guitar (on Majesty), lower the things a little, but it was so fantastic to listen to this reworked version of Majesty... Only wHen You're Gone was sooooo nice, and Lise also was there with her violin (as in Majesty) (and of course the band earned a double applause for this song)... Hold on To You was pretty, the new version of I Don't Fit works, but it could be better, but the surprise came from GOt YOU (i really can't describe it with words...) The Frontman knocked us out, Sivert was waiving his hand to the crowd, and some fans grabbed it, getting him out of stage.... The atmosphere was full of energy and electricity... Frontman was the start, Black MAmbo was again Absolutely FabulouS! and in Blood Shot Adult Commitment there's a small spot over here: If you make the mistake to dance along from the beggining you can hardly finish this song... the lightning effects were super, Sivert was screaming as a mean dog, he was whipping the words on our face, fantastic!! and a Hard to come Back came after that, and the whole venue was dancing as maniac...
on the 1st encore they came out with Kids... (really worst from the album), Electric (no comments..), and Sail Away (impressive), Sivert was saying thank you so much for your support, and he was so overwhelming... Higher nearly killed us, and then Ramona was a blast off... a dynamite!! a song made for live shows (as the album version isn't quite good) with Sivert's stagediving, the crowd surfed him a little and put him back on stage, closing one of their best shows in Greece... in a couple of days we're going to have a complete set of photos of their shows..
after that we had our party, the party of Madrugada|Fan|Club.. the club called Memphis was packed with people waiting to see them... they were pretty cool and simple, they signed all the time autographs, and talked with people... Robert and Sivert were on the decks, for the dj set, which was really quite strange and groovy for the greek fans, but had some gems inside like a demo version of Life In The City, some Stooges stuff, and at last some My Midnight Creeps songs, and we were trying to persuade him to play some more :-) Frode was one of the coolest guys in the venue, told us but how Slow Builder and Move are great songs (and actually that's really really true!!!)... what a great night!!!!
cu tonight again in Gagarin205.. !!!

Hello Friends!
I am very pleased to hear that Madrugada are still number one in the Greek charts. I'd like to thank you all for your support and enthusiasm and for being such a wonderful and dedicated audience. We have many great memories from the concerts in Athens and Thessaloniki, getting to share a stage with The Stooges last summer was definitely one of the highlights of our career so far. I think I speak for everybody in the band when I say that we are very much looking forward to returning to Greece in a month’s time. I can assure all of you that the band has never played better.

And hey, make sure to check out our official website (http://www.madrugada.net) as it is now being updated on a regular basis by myself and our manager.
See you soon
Sivert

14. I'm In Love27/01/2005 after the gig in London this week had to be pulled, the band and the management have been trying to figure out another solution. Today a part of the new video will still be shooted for The Kids Are On High Street at The Kilburn in London. Instead of a full live set however, the band will perform a short acoustic set after the filming is over. This will consist of 4 or 5 songs only, but will be a rare treat - an acoustic appearance by Madrugada comes along once every few years. Timings for the night are the same - the doors open at 8pm, and we aim to start filming at 9pm. Filming should not take more than 30 - 45 minutes. Also, everyone who attends will have the option to have their portrait taken by our photographer for possible inclusion in the video.
Besides, some acoustic performances in local radio stations have completed, with the presence of Madrugada in the norwegian radio stations NRK P1, NRK P3 and Kanal 24. There Robert Buras and Sivert Hoyem presented an acoustic version of the new single The Kids Are on High Street and the brand new Sail Away. The new single reminds a lot of REM, and the Oceanliner song, while Sail Away is a beautiful ballad with a sound familiar to Nightly Disease.
Moreover, we continue updating the sections memorabilia and pictures. In memorabilia you can find flyers, posters, autographs and playlists of Madrugada, while in pictures, photos of the band, from greek shows and other photos. The additions are related to the kind permission of the photographic archive of the greek musical portal Avopolis Network (www.avopolis.gr) and Mo Better Club (www.mobetter.gr). You can help us growing more our archives, by sending your pictures to basilpap@gmail.com
Finally, in dates you can find the new gig dates of the band, and the dates of their previous appearances.
21/01/2005 the title of the new album is The Deep End and it's set to be released on 28 February all over Europe. The Kids Are On High Street will be the first official single release after Blood Shot Adult Commitment. Madrugada will play a 45minutes live set in "Late" of The Kilburn on Kilburn High Road of London on 27 January, where it is supposed to take place the shooting of the video clip of Kids Are On High Street. Doors open at 20:00 and the entrance is free. You can find the flyer of the night here, like other flyers, posters and tickets of the band in section memorabilia.
18/01/2005 we present you informations about the forthcoming album. The new album of Madrugada, is yet untitled, set to be released on 28 February, all over Europe. Behind the production stands George Drakoulias (Tom Petty, Black Crowes, Jayhawks), and David Bianco is the sound engineer.
The album was recorded in Sound City of Van Nuys, Los Angeles, CA in Studio A and B (where Nirvana recorded the historical Nevermind), between 15 October and 20 November 2004, and the mixing took place in Scream Studios of Los Angeles, CA from 22 November till 10 December. Except of Sivert Hoyem, Frode Jacobsen and Robert Buras, and Simen Vangen, Erland Dalen on drums, well known musicians contributed to the album, and there are rumours according to famous Angelo Badalamenti, and a new song called "Hold On To You".
Rumours also refer to Courtney Taylor-Taylor of The Dandy Warhols, known fan of "Majesty", but it isn't sure yet if his contribution will be included in the tracklist, where for sure "Runnin' Outta Time" and "The Kids Are On High Street," will be.
16/01/2005 simen vangen confirmed the rumours according his departure of the band. Simen contributed with the band as a drummer for the first time on January 2002 and became a full member for the recordings of Grit, the tours, and the new album. He will work on his jazz side projects, while his co-working with Sivert Hoyem in Opposition will continue for the new disc. The last gig of Simen with Madrugada will take place in Larm of Stavanger on 10 February.
13/01/2005 on 14 January will be released the radio-only single The Kids Are On High Street. The new single will be radio only, released in Norway. Madrugada will give some concerts, for the support of the new release, while 2 charity gigs will take place in Norway for fundraising reasons, for supporting South Eastern Asia (starting on 14 January, in Garage, Oslo). According to rumours around the new album, the songs Ramona, É Ôhink We're Running Out Of Time, and Life In City will be included in the tracklist.
Moreover, Sivert choose for norwegian paper VG his favour recordings:
